The fireplace, small but important corner of the home, has always demanded much attention from the ironworker. Grates, griddles and spitjacks, trivets and tongs, firebaskets, stoves, canopies, screens, firedogs, firebacks, ranges…the list is long.
Today these demands of the hearth remain as clear as ever, and, notwithstanding the ready availability of mass produced wares, regularly generate a lot of work in and around the forge.
